Congratulations to Michelle Obama for not only tugging at every single one of my heartstrings…one by one but for delivering a truly amazing and uplifting speech at the Democratic National Convention last night. She undeniably touched the hearts and minds of everyone watching, reinforcing the Obama campaign and reassuring America that change will be mad. Let’s get it! For those of you that missed it- check it out below. The montage dedicated to her in the first clip is very informational about Michelle’s background and experience- serving as sort of a Cliff’s Notes to bring even the unfamiliar face up to speed.

Andre Young, Jr. was found dead on Saturday morning by his mother when she went to go check on him as any parent would when their child is out partying the night before. Dr. Dre had 5 kids, sadly there’s only 4 left after this unfortunate incident in which no details have been released. Andre Young was rumored to be the son of Dre and former girlfriend and R&B singer, Mi’chelle. I’ll keep you updated.

I’m sure most of you have heard the whispering winds declare the official feud between Jay-Z and the Game. Actually, Jay said he wasn’t fucking with Game and that he would “let him commit suicide” before he addressed the comments made by Game.

What’s the beef about exactly? Well since 2005- the Game’s been mouthing off. I think it’s safe to say that the Game is leanin to the left of the sanity meter. Although I love his perseverance and unwavering stand against those that confront him- the Game has done some pretty crazy things in his past that don’t quite classify him as the gangsta rapper he aspires to be. The man is a women’s playground- no doubt- but that’s not the point. It’s all about these “overnight celebrity” rap careers. Who’s real and who’s fake? Who’s living a lie and who’s walking the road? I saw the Game on “Change of Heart” years ago, as he got rejected by his girlfriend. Could it be the jordache overalls, tongue ring and blond Mohawk? That’s not gangsta as 50 cent would say. Yet, we fast forward to your career as a rapper and it’s like CB4 in this bitch. Is the real Game locked up in jail? Did you take his street title and make millions off it? MC Gusto! I’ve been around Game and he seems like a cool dude- but some of the shit he does is suspicious and contradictory to what he preaches in his raps.

Here’s a quote from the Game in 2004 when he shouted to a crowd in Europe “Jay-Z can suck my dick!”

“If Jay takes offense to it and wants to come out, and start this beef or start this so-called war, then I’ma use my creativity as a hip-hop artist and my best judgment to pan out what this is. If I think that he’s trying to dismantle my character and my career, then I will come out, but it’s something I’m not looking forward to.”

Later goes on to retract the statement:

“I had a show in London tonight and I didn’t put Jay’s name in my show,” said Game. “I didn’t do that because I kind of felt in the wrong for what I did [in Amsterdam]. I don’t wanna beef with Jay. I don’t wanna beef with anyone I respect, but at the same time, respect only goes so far.”

Now it’s 2008- he’s been screaming that for years now. But quietly, or not so quiet, he’s obsessed with Jay- mentioning him or something relating to him in a slew of records. Matter of fact- he’s obsessed with New York. He wishes he was a New York dude because that would validate him and his tough talk because- that’s what we New Yorkers do best. Hey, I could be completely off with my evaluation- but that’s why it’s MINE- none of yall mo’fuckas got live by it.

Here’s some lines from various Game raps that mention Jay-Z or something relating to Jay-Z- be it a line that Game flips into his own, a reference or jab. You will also notice the commonality of New York and he’s infatuation with the City of Dreams.

1. “My Life” featuring Lil Wayne- the Game makes reference to Beanie Sigel and the Roc. Damn right he bigs up Beans- shit we all seen Paper Soldiers- duke will Phili freez em!

2. “Weave in and out of traffic from Compton to Bed-Stuy“- why it gotta be Bed Stuy for? Does he wish he was from Brooklyn?

3. “Poppin Crist‘ in the 6, like we drivin through Mardi Gras“- everyone knows Jay-Z popularized 600 Benzes and Cristal.

4. “Kick in the door, wavin the four-four” ok I know that’s a Biggie line- but Jigga and Big cut from the same cloth! So it counts. Is it coincidence or is he OBSESSED with NY!?

5. Play off Jay’s Line from 22’s but here’s Game’s version “See what the problem is too much east coast dick lickin“

6. “Don’t Cry” of Game’s debut album is basically parallel in message to Jay-Z’s “Soon You’ll Understand” but you be the judge

7. This is from his record “Compton Compton”- “Keep a (Mac) on the block, I ain’t talkin ’bout Beans”
(2-7 are JUST off his 2004 Untold Story”
8. Evidently the Game has dumping grounds in Marcy- from Hate it or Love it “One phone call will have ya body dumped in Marcy”
9. Don’t Need Your Love- “That’s a case of Armadale, this a continental suite” and whose alcohol is Armadale? HOVA!
10. And here the beef is re-introduced on the Documentary: “No verse from JayI guess on westside storyHe thought i spit in his face”
11. Why’s it gotta be 99? LOL “With 99 miles left, on the Avis rental car”
12. No More Fun and Games “Mase coming back and Hovie done.”

There’s way more signs of obsession that I might take the time and search for on a really, really boring day when I have shit else to do. Who am I kidding? You know I love this shit. BIG Shout out to my homie, S Dot because she stated it perfectly “Solange, you are fired for this video!” First of all, Solange came to my attention recently when my sister retold me the story of her appearance on 106 & Park. She was telling me how stank she was acting and just down right snobby like a lil brat! Anyway- cursed or blessed- Solange sounds identical to her sister. If I was her- I’d try rapping or cashing in on back up vox for Beyonce. Solange is the outcast of the fam anyway- being the less hotter one that got married to a football player when she found out she was preggers only to get divorced a year later. Imagine all that before you hit the age of 20. I’d like to say this retro, disco look is a terrible way to go for Solange. I understand that she wants to be different, but come on. Outlandishness is not being different. Her newest video, that she directed herself, is called “Sandcastle Disco” and it looks more like a Gaycastle Disco. First- her outfits are sooooooooooo bad. She has this Diane Ross meets Bjork wearing the Swan dress motif going. I don’t know if I can take it. Plus, that friggin orange explosion jumper looks crazy- you know the one that looks like she’s wearing gigantic water wings…yeah, that one. SMH!

Anyway, if you recall, this totally didn’t work for Beyonce when she came out with her first solo record “Work it Out” which they had to bury fast with some hot shit cuz that would’ve been a real doozie if she followed that formula. So overdone! And unnatural

Professional, middle-weight boxer, Danny Jacobs stopped by the Round Table. This is his debut interview and the first time we had a boxer on the show- so it was a cool night…again. On last week’s edition of the Round Table Show- we had two members of two legendary rap groups. Erick Sermon of EPMD, who is a good friend of mine and subsequently dissed me at least 7 times when I asked him to come on the show, finally came through for what I predicted was going to be another great show. Now “great show” doesn’t particularly mean “through the roof ratings” but more in terms of if you’re a fan- you’re going to get the most exclusive and insightful information that will keep you at attention for the full 2 hours running. Dres, another good friend, came through as well. What more can you ask for? Black Sheep and EPMD in the same room? You know how we do our match ups! Bringing people together very thoughtfully for your viewing pleasure. This is for the true lover of Hip Hop. Please watch carefully as you will notice a faux-pas by the youngn rapper, Rain. Although he fumbles, the commoradarie of Dres and Erick are a true testament of Hip Hop because instead of letting the newbie drown in his nervousness of being around the iconic rappers- E and Dres encourage him to jump back in the cypher- adlibing for Rain- showing that they didn’t give up on him. Overall, the cypher was hot! Check it out:

You guys know my son, Rain. Ok- he’s not my son. But he’s fam. I’ve been rockin with this kid since he was 17. I remember when E. Beasley first played me his mixtape.
