Here’s a statement from Carnegie PR, Kampane’s publicist.
New York, NY August 18, 2011- It is with great sadness that Carnegie PR, Ruby Management and So Bless Media announce the loss of their client and friend, Rhian Stoute, known to the Hip-Hop world as KAMPANE. Kampane lost his life to senseless gun violence on Tuesday morning, August 16, 2011.
Rhian Stoute was born on August 31, 1977 and raised in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York. Growing up with musical influences like his cousin Steve Stoute and well-known producer J Runnah, it was to no surprise that Kampane would soon develop a deep love of music.
Kampane was given a shot in the late 90’s to prove his lyrical ability and in 2000 joined the Roc-a-Fella tour with the opportunity of a lifetime to learn the business. With an infectious personality, amazing character and the ability to charm almost anyone, Kampane’s future looked bright. In 2006, unfortunate circumstances occurred and Kampane was critically injured, bringing his career to a standstill.
Fully recovered and ready to continue on his musical journey, Kampane burst back onto the scene in 2010, releasing his highly anticipated project, CPR The Mixtape. The single titled “What You Drinking On,” received a great response being played in some of the hottest New York venues.
At the time of his death, Kampane was currently working on the release of a new project and was very excited about the direction his career was moving in.
Kampane was truly loved by all of those who knew him, and this is a tremendous loss. On behalf of his family and friends, we would like to thank everyone for their outpour of support, kind words and concern during this time of bereavement. We ask that you continue to keep Kampane and his family in your hearts and prayers.
We ask that anyone who may have information about this murder please contact the Paramus Police Department at 201.262.3400 or Bergen County Police Major Crimes Unit 201.226.5500.
