Shit just got really real :( Micheal Jackson 1958-2009
It was really hard for me to deal with MJ’s death- I cried immediately when I heard the news cuz he was such a major influence on my love affair with music. My sister and I watched Moonwalker 2000 times- copying all his moves (trying) and memorizing all his songs, adlibs included. I’m the type of person that does not want to face negative shit and I try to forget about it as fast as I can to avoid feelings of sadness. Although its completely natural to be sad sometimes- I try not to be. Anyway- this memorial today really made Michael’s death a reality. Seeing all these great people pay tribute- broke my heart but at the same time filled it up with love. Love for a man who was misunderstood, lonely and robbed of his childhood.
I always thought, deep down inside that maybe one day- I would have the special opportunity to interview
MJ. I have so many questions for him. I want to know what his favorite song is. I want to know what his favorite dance sequence is. I want to know so many things about his music making process and it’s just sad to think that dream will never come to life. It’s hard to let go, but we still have the music and memories.
MJ you shaped me and my sister’s love for music and we will continue to remember you through all the great things you have done for this world.
